If you are looking for the most durable chassis powder coating, ask about our millennium flat black.  It is a poly-urethane blend of powder that outperforms typical polyester powder coatings.  It is a much harder finish, and goes on thinner, making it less prone to get rock chips.  In addition to its durability, it also requires less maitenance than glossy colors.  Fingerprints, grease, and smudges will be less noticeable than colors that reflect a lot of light.

Thermoplastic protective coating. This is a plastisol like coating applied by Pace Performance Coatings. It is applied about three times thicker than standard powder coating, has better impact resistance, better chemical resistance, and is non conductive. In this picture, an oil filter guard was coated to prevent damage to the filter on a dirt sprint car.

  Polyester powders have a fair resistance to chemicals, but not great.  If you have an application you would like powder coated that needs to be resistant to gasoline, solvents, etc then we can coat it with an epoxy powder.  Epoxy powders have a great resistance to chemicals, but they also have a great downfall; No resistance to UV light.  This means the parts cannot be kept outside, or in direct sunlight.  Colors are also limited in epoxy powder, but the basics are available.

Epoxy powder coating applications:

Gas tank, solvent tank, intake manifold, engine stand, laboratory equipment, shelving, etc.

Standard powder coat:

  Our polyester powder coatings will be adequate for daily driver applications.  Wide variety of colors.

High temp powder:

  If you plan to use your brakes more than the average Joe, but don't need maximum performance, then our high temp silicone powder coating will be a good finish.  You will get the durability associated with powder coating. Limited colors.

High temp ceramic coating:

 Our high temp ceramic brake coatings will handle heat up to 2000+ degrees f !  Many colors available.  Not intended for rotors.

For the racers:

  Ask about our heat dissipation coating.  We use a trusted name brand product proved to reduce operating temps by 30-40%.  Coating can be used for other applications, including radiators, oil coolers, etc.

Of Fame midget raffle.

The rare chance to win a race-ready 2010 Spike/Ford-Esslinger Midget race car is now available until January 2011.

As a fund raising project the Highbanks Hall of Fame/National Midget Auto Racing Museum is offering this complete midget race car to a lucky individual. The museum features a "National Midget Auto Racing Museum" and the Hall of Fame for the Belleville High Banks track, along with other open wheel racing cars, memorabilia, library and gift shop. The facility is located in Belleville, which is in North Central Kansas.

John Godfrey of Spike Chassis, put together this project for the facility, and provided many of the components for the car beside chassis construction and final assembly. Esslinger Engineering has provided a Ford-Esslinger engine to power “the state of the art” race car.

For each $20 donation, individuals will receive a ticket to win the race car along with other prizes. Secondary  prizes include: two tickets and suite passes to the 2011 Knoxville Nationals,  two tickets to the 2012 Chili Bowl,  two tickets to a choice event at the Belleville High Banks, and more to be announced. Proceeds will benefit the Building and Operating Fund. Drawing will be held at the 2011 Chili Bowl. You need not be present to win, and must be 18 years of age to participate.

Powder coat is applied with an electrostatic spray gun.  It has the ability to get in tough to reach areas, unlike conventional liquid paints.  The picture above is a car chassis.  This powder coated chassis will last much longer because there is less uncoated steel to harbor rust.
